New Update
GPT-4

Recently, AI-powered ChatGPT created a new buzz in the tech world. It is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with a chatbot. It is a NLP (natural language processing) model chatbot developed by OpenAI based on the GPT-3 family of large language models and is fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques. GPT-3 stands for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3”.

This project is currently in beta testing and launched on 30 November 2022.  ChatGPT can be used for customer service, personal assistant applications, automated customer support, and many more. You can access ChatGPT simply by visiting chat.openai.com and creating an OpenAI account. Currently it's free considering its  in “research preview” time period and open for users to try out and provide feedback but as of 1 February there is  also a paid subscription version called ChatGPT Plus

The GPT-3 model was trained with a massive amount of data collected from the internet. Think of Wikipedia, Twitter, and Reddit—it was fed data and human text scraped from all corners of the internet.  GPT-3 was trained using a combination of supervised learning and Reinforcement Learning through Human Feedback (RLHF). Supervised learning is the stage where the model is trained on a large dataset of text scraped from the internet. The reinforcement learning stage is where it is trained to produce better responses that align with what humans would accept as being both human-like and correct.

Can ChatGPT Replace Google?

It's not an easy task for ChatGPT to replace Google in the near future as there are many differences between a chatbot and a Search Engine. The basic difference is that a chatbot is a language model created with the purpose of holding a conversation with the end user. A search engine indexes web pages on the internet to help the user find the information they asked for. ChatGPT does not have the ability to search the internet for information.

ChatGPT Use Cases

ChatGPT can be applied to a range of NLP applications, such as Generating Text, Dialogue Generation, Language Translation, Text Summarization, Text Classification, Question Answering,  and Text Completion among others. This in turn can be used for the following:
