If you are mobile gaming enthusiast, it is most likely safe to say that you are already hooked onto the popular online multiplayer battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds more commonly known as PUBG. The game, which was released on Android and iOS earlier this year, has become a rage in India. PUBG is the number one free game on iOS and one of the highest grossing games on Android as of now.

PUBG has millions of daily active users across the world, and India is one of the top three countries that plays the game. In a bid to increase its popularity and capture more college students, PUBG Mobile publisher Tencent will be entering a partnership with smartphone brand Oppo to organize the country’s first ever PUBG Mobile tournament called the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018.

Rules of the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018

The rules for participating in the game are simple. One must be a college student with a legitimate college ID and registration number, a citizen of India who is 15 years and above, and competitors must form a squad of at least four players who are students of any college in India for current year. All players have to use their mobile phones to take part in the competition and also must have installed the newest version of the game in order to participate in Campus Championship.

The registrations for the game have started since 7 September and will end on 21 September. Players can check in from 22 to 23 September, and the first 10,000 teams to check-in will be qualified for the online qualifier, which starts on 26 September and ends on 5 October. The grand finale will take place offline in Bengaluru from 20 to 21 October. During the offline grand finals, however, players cannot use their mobile phones and devices would be provided by the organizer to all participants.

Cash Price of the PUBG Competition

The competition has a total prize pool of Rs 50 lakhs, wherein the first place winners will get Rs 15 lakhs, second place winners Rs 5 lakhs and third place winners Rs 3 lakhs. There is a cash price for winners up to the tenth place. Oppo Phones worth Rs 13,000 will also be given away to winners. Nonetheless a TDS, according to the rules of Government of India, will be applicable to the prize money above Rs 10,000.
