Oracle and Microsoft have joined forces in a multi-year agreement, in their significant stride toward advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. This collaboration is aimed to fuel the growth of AI services. The announcement revealed that Microsoft is leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI Infrastructure, in conjunction with Microsoft Azure AI infrastructure to enhance the inferencing of AI models critical for powering daily Microsoft Bing conversational searches.
The collaboration depicts Microsoft’s commitment to optimizing AI models, with a specific focus on the inferencing process that forms the backbone of Bing’s conversational search feature. They will be utilizing Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure, as Microsoft can seamlessly integrate managed services, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to manage OCI Compute at an extensive scale. This strategic partnership will enable Microsoft to effectively meet the escalating demand for Bing conversational search services.
Bing’s conversational search functionality needs strong clusters of computing infrastructure to evaluate and analyze search results generated by Bing’s inference model. This collaboration represents a shared vision to harness the latest AI advancements to significantly enhance the search experience for users on a global scale.
“Generative AI is a monumental technological leap and Oracle is enabling Microsoft and thousands of other businesses to build and run new products with our OCI AI capabilities,” said Karan Batta, senior vice president, of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “By furthering our collaboration with Microsoft, we are able to help bring new experiences to more people around the world.”
“Microsoft Bing is leveraging the latest advancements in AI to provide a dramatically better search experience for people across the world,” said Divya Kumar, global head of marketing for Search & AI at Microsoft. “Our collaboration with Oracle and use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure along with our Microsoft Azure AI infrastructure, will expand access to customers and improve the speed of many of our search results.”
Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure offers organizations a straightforward pathway to a multi-cloud environment, combining OCI AI infrastructure with Oracle Database capabilities such as Oracle Exadata Database Service, Autonomous Database, and MySQL HeatWave. This collaboration enables customers to innovate using the best features of OCI and Azure with seamless interoperability. The low-latency, private connection between the two leading cloud providers provides flexible innovation while maximizing return on investment, with pricing based on ports and no additional charges for bandwidth consumed.
