What are the eligibility criteria for the DRDO JRF position?

The maximum age to be eligible for the DRDO JRF position is 28 years as of the date of the interview. The age relaxation is applicable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

The educational qualifications include:

  • Physics: Postgraduate degree in Physics with a first division and valid NET qualification.
  • Mechanical Engineering: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in the first division with a valid NET/GATE qualification or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in the first division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering: BE/B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication/Electronics & Communication Engineering in the first division with a valid NET/GATE qualification or M.E./M.Tech in the same field in the first division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of INR 37,000/- and additional HRA per prevailing rules.  The fellowship tenure is initially for two years, further extension or upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be governed as per rules.

Candidates must bring the following documents at the time of the interview:

  • Complete biodata
  • Attested copies of mark sheets and certificates (10th onwards)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Experience certificate (if any)
  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • A valid identity card in original

Desirous candidates must report at TBRL, Sector-30, Chandigarh at 09:00 hrs on the respective interview date. Screening of eligibility criteria will begin promptly, and candidates reporting after 1000 hrs will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
