Yet another Latin American delivery center for Infosys

Expanding its footprint in Latin America, Infosys added another delivery center for its business process outsourcing subsidiary, Infosys BPO, in San Jose, Costa Rica. Initially, this center with a strength of more than 100 employees will cater to the Procter & Gamble's strategic sourcing and procurement needs.

Later it will expand to offering an entire range of BPO services to global clients in finance and accounting, human resources management, analytics, legal processes, customer relationship services, marketing, and supply chain management.

Humberto Andrade, Head - Latin America, Infosys BPO, said, "We will continue to strengthen our presence in Latin America to provide better service and greater flexibility to clients. We're addressing not only our global clients here but also Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking markets as we drive business growth in the region."

This news is at a time when there was a special mention for the company by Jim Yong Kim, president, World Bank in the words, 'Build a company like Infosys, hire people, and lift them out of poverty.'

In sync with time also is the news that the company's stock hit a two-year high recently. One of the reasons according to analysts is on the high of the post-budget shift by large funds into defensives such as IT services. According to analysts Infosys will continue be occupying an advantageous position owing to the demand for IT services.
