According to the release, the company is the first multinational companies in the industry to establish business in a tier-3 location of India, and is making further important commitments to its existing ITO and BPO service capabilities in the town with the new 1000-seater campus.

Ken Lever, CEO, Xchanging insisted, India is a growth market for us and we have a significant commitment here. Today, with the centre and state governments creating favorable platforms and policies, tier-2 and 3 cities look well poised to continue growing as the sought-after destinations for the IT/ ITES industry. We are looking at expanding our base in Shimoga to enable us to leverage lower cost inflation and attrition. At the same time, we can tap into the local talent pool and developing infrastructure in building a stable and productive delivery centre with the competence to serve globally.

Xchanging signed an agreement with Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS), a Government of Karnataka enterprise, to lease and jointly develop the centre on six acres of land in the then-developing SEZ in Shimoga.
