Talking about the new initiative, CMIL managing director and Dataquest
publisher Pradeep Gupta said instead of a grand awards ceremony restricted to a
single physical location, the online initiative is aimed at taking country’s
premium tech awards to the doorstep of global audience. According to him, the
online awards showcase also offers a unique opportunity for employees, clients
and partners to join in an online celebration of success and excellence. ‘‘Sustained
visibility alongside interactive and useful content for technology
professionals, the showcase will connect the leaders of the Indian IT and
telecom sectors to the community of enterprise buyers and the decision—makers,’’
he said. ‘‘This is another first from the Cyber Media stable of events aimed
at garnering global appreciation for the achievements of Indian IT firms using
the online medium,’’ Gupta added.
Inaugurating the online version of the awards, Nasscom President Kiran Karnik
said that, ‘‘The move denotes global appreciation of the efforts of India’s
business houses to promote technology in the Indian subcontinent.’’
