	The new BPO success story; draws more VCs to BPO 5% of revenues, 10% of customer base and 75% of the order book came from Wipro Technologies or joint pursuits

2002 was indeed an eventful year for Raman Roy’s Spectramind. First, the
company got taken over by Wipro in the first quarter. Then, it went on to become
a fully-owned subsidiary. Driven by investment from Wipro, the company’s
revenues grew by 278%–well beyond industry averages–and the headcount by
135%. For this BPO player, 80% of revenues came from the contact center
business, 90% of which was inbound voice.
