Aerospace and Defense Seminars in Bangalore and Hyderabad Focus on Delivering Next-Generation Safe and Secure Intelligent Systems
Wind River, known to be one of the leading players in delivering software for intelligent connected systems, hosted the annual Aerospace and Defense (A&D) conference – Wind Forum 2015 in Bangalore on April 7. The Hyderabad session will be held on Thursday, April 9. The forum focused on delivering safe and secure intelligent systems in an increasingly complex and connected world, and reducing risk from next-generation programs with commercial-grade run-time platforms based on industry standards.
Given the interconnectedness of all communications networks today, the critical infrastructure systems, including those in the aerospace and defense industry, faces enormous embedded safety and security challenges. Electronic systems in defense and military communications have become prime targets for highly sophisticated cyber-attacks, due to their increased network connectedness, along with the critical nature of their use.
With the requirement for cyber security to be dynamic, owning necessary depth to detect, stop and prevent attacks, Dr. Paul Chen, senior director of product management at Wind River, showcased presentations on trends and development in airborne software and aviation systems as well as embedded cybersecurity.
In addition, the seminar showcased A&D ecosystem players and their insights into the latest technologies to enhance the safety and security of critical systems, as well as guidance on solving end-to-end device-to-cloud system security challenges. Attendees also had the opportunity to experience the most-up-to-date and innovative products and solutions and interact with technology experts, gaining new perspectives on today’s embedded design challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Ross, Account Manager – A&D vertical said, “Data is king, and in this information age, the safety and security of critical infrastructure networks is of paramount importance to organizations and national governments”. Wind River’s solutions for safety & security provides a unique set of real-time embedded operating system expertise to help organizations build robust protection systems to withstand the constant threats from enemies within outside the borders of the country.
Indigenous R&D is an essential component of national information security measures. Wind River being a market leader in the aerospace and defense industry plays a key role in meeting needs of short term R&D leading to commercially viable products.
