The Facebook owned platform is expected to launch the ‘Recall’ feature soon. The company may also bring back the old contacts list that disappeared on iOS after the status feature came. This however would be available only for iPhone users.

The ‘Recall’ feature is expected to work for all kinds of messages including texts, GIFS, videos, documents, images, quoted messages and even status. Instagram with 700 million monthly active users already has the ‘Recall’ feature for their users.

The recall feature for WhatsApp had to be enabled in version 2.17.30+ as tweeted by Tipster WABeta. However this version has already been enabled for iOS and the feature was not included. WABeta said that, when WhatsApp will enable this feature is not certain but in version 2.17.30 or higher the feature would be included.

WABetaInfo further suggests that WhatsApp is currently in the phase of testing the contacts feature, which might appear under the status section. There is however no concrete information on when the feature might be included.

Another new feature in the process of being planned is the ‘Change Number’ feature that would notify all friends about your number change and the tedious task of sending broadcast or losing chats would be sorted. Features like bringing live location sharing that was added by Facebook and Google is also being worked upon by WhatsApp.

As of now, there is no final date provided that when these features might be updates in the app.
