WhatsApp call waiting has been rolled-out for iOS smartphones recently in the latest update, and the feature in now functioning. The Facebook-owned free messaging platform recently unveiled the feature for Android smartphones as well in its latest update. Users on a call will now receive a notification in case they get another call.
WhatsApp users will now also be able to choose if they want to answer or decline a call while they are already on a WhatsApp voice or video call. WhatsApp through its blog has outlined instructions on how to activate and use the call waiting feature for iOS smartphones.
How to Use WhatsApp Call Waiting Feature?
Users will first have to upgrade to the latest version of WhatsApp. After updating, users can do the following:
If someone calls on WhatsApp
Users can select from the following options:
End and Accept: End the call users are currently on and accept the incoming call.
Decline: Decline the incoming call and remain on the current call.
If someone calls from outside of WhatsApp
If someone attempts to call users through a landline or mobile phone outside of WhatsApp while they’re on a WhatsApp voice or video call, users can tap the following options:
End and Accept: End the call they’re currently on and accept the incoming call.
Hold and Accept: Place the current call on hold and accept the incoming call.
Decline: Decline the incoming call and remain on the current call.
The WhatsApp FAQ page also adds that depending on the carrier being used, users might also receive charges for calls made outside of WhatsApp. Furthermore, charges for voice or video calls made on WhatsApp would be chargeable for those on data roaming or for those who have exceeded their data limit.
