How do you see the current market for application
modernization?

We see a huge opportunity for application modernization in India. This is
the one segment that has remained relatively untouched by the economic
recession. For the first time, we saw IT budgets being cut down to the extent of
20-25% which put enormous pressure on the CIOs. They were faced with the
challenge to do more with less, and yet give results in a shorter time. They
were forced to look closely at their investments in the existing IT systems
while also moving forward into the current and evolving architectures.
Application modernization has helped them to successfully exploit their
investment.

How legacy intensive are the enterprises IT assets in
India?

Many organizations in India have a mix of legacy as well as newer solutions.
Looking at the way the market is evolving, many of these organizations have
understood the need to change. They have understood that to remain competitive,

What is your deployment model in India?

and our products are used extensively by both small and large customers in areas
like application development, maintenance, modernization, testing, lifecycle
management, and portfolio management, and across practically most verticals. We
address the market through a mix of direct field engagements and partners in
India. Micro Focus has various channels to engage with our valued customers. We
have distributors, resellers, system integration partners, and global partners
in India who engage with our customers both in the domestic market and global
markets.
