DQ: When was CodeStore founded, what were its goals and objectives?

Ajay Kumar Goel: CodeStore was incepted in 2015, with the primary objective of increasing employment in India. Even then, the IT industry was rapidly expanding. We decided to focus entirely on software consulting and services. Today, our company primarily serves the logistics, healthcare, and educational sectors. In my opinion, these three industries will continue to thrive on their own for the foreseeable future—perhaps over the next 100 years. Our long-term goal is to become a major IT giant with our core values about quality of work, and a positive work environment in place.

DQ: What are your growth/expansion plans for the next year?

Ajay Kumar Goel: We were able to grow in terms of both size and revenue in the previous few years, at a rate of about 50% per year. We are hoping to achieve a run rate of up to 70% or 80% year-on-year growth. In terms of staff, we are expecting to build a young professional team of 200+ employees by the end of 2023.

We currently work largely as a cross-platform full stack development company. In the upcoming years, we intend to grow our team's expertise in AI data science, and to a lesser extent with the rapidly-expanding field of extractive data analysis.

DQ: What were the major challenges CodeStore has faced till now?

Ajay Kumar Goel: In the recent years, hiring has been difficult for us as a tech startup. We are a technology company at our core, and we place a strong emphasis on quality over quantity. In the Indian market, peer pressure is too great, so everyone wants to join an MNC, and only a very small percentage or group of people are willing to take risk and give up the instant gratification of being praised by others on the basis of working for an MNC.

At times, it was very difficult for us to find good quality people for our organization. Despite this, startups are currently quite popular. The funding element, though, probably takes care of it since profitability is what comes after expansion and, since we are an unfunded company, profitability comes first so that we may expand. Therefore, we are able to overcome the barrier in hiring by focusing on attitudes, rather than talents/skills. Therefore, while hiring, we make an effort to find candidates with the proper mindset and develop their talents.

DQ: How is CodeStore Technologies helping companies with quick and easy cross platform app solutions?

Ajay Kumar Goel: When choosing between the Waterfall Delivery Model and Agile, we always prefer to onboard our clients with an Agile Delivery model, where they can push their products to market with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). They can test it to see what the market is demanding, and then, we can do the changes accordingly.

In terms of their very scalable pricing models, we are pretty flexible there and they will be able to project even better. Let's say we onboard a customer with a fixed cost price model and later on, he feels that he wants to change the engagement model and wants to move to dedicated full time resources and directly wants to interact with the whole team.

DQ: In what ways is CodeStore Technologies promoting the Make in India initiative?

Advertisment

Ajay Kumar Goel: We constantly strive to purchase our inventory from suppliers who are making goods in India as part of our efforts to encourage Make in India. We are a software service company, thus everything we do is made in India; we do not outsource any of our work to any other nation. We produce software for Indians who offer services to both Indians and people outside of India. Additionally, we offer direct service outside of India.

DQ: How do you see the Indian app market developing in the near future?

Ajay Kumar Goel: If someone wants to grow, they need to have some kind of IT support. For example, if you look at the trend from the past five years, there has been drastic change in the industry. The potential is enormous and the sector is expanding quickly. Since 1995, several businesses have grown to be enormous, able to offer services, and able to take the lead globally because of the right tech backup.
