How has CommVault positioned itself in the Indian market?

We are a New Jersey-based software company focused exclusively on data and
simplified information management solutions. Our software offers solutions for

data protection, archiving, high availability, storage resource management, and

search. We entered the relatively new information management space in India in

2007 with the Simpana software. Simpana enables information management and

content-indexing of all managed data into one virtual pool for search and

discovery functions. We are also planning to launch a new version of the

software called Simpana 7.0, which will provide a single process that will

consolidate and carry out all the information management functions through a

unified virtual platform.

What is the role of your development center in Hyderabad?

Our Hyderabad development center is key to our global strategy as far as

product development and testing is concerned. About 13% of our employees are
based in India with one-third of our global product development and testing team

based out of Hyderabad. Presently, we have about 150 people at our development

center and are planning to increase to 250 people in next one year

How relevant is information management to the Indian market?

With enterprises trying to cut down on data center operational costs and

improve storage efficiencies, information and data management holds very high

relevance. We have been able to simplify the management of storage for our

customers by seamlessly managing the entire data path, from application to

device. We want to give the controls back to the customer, enabling them to

track every piece of data from the time it is created to the time it is deleted

What is your outlook for the present fiscal?

Our worldwide revenue in FY 08 was $198.3 mn and we plan to reach $250 mn

by FY 09. Our international business, excluding North America, makes up almost
40% of our business and we expect it to grow at 52% y-o-y. India makes up for a

significant share of our international business and we expect a 100% y-o-y

growth in our business in India. The country will continue to play a significant

role both from a sales as well as a strategy standpoint.
