What made you start Anshinsoft's development center in Kolkata?
There was not much of an analysis behind my decision to open our development
center in Kolkata. I belong to the state and have passed out from IIT Kharagpur.
So, I think it is the hometown connection that led me to start our operations in
the city. Initially we started with around 15 people in India and another seven
to eight in the US. Today Anshinsoft employs over 200 people.
What is your revenue model?
Currently, 80% of our revenues come from our capital market solutions.
Around 10% comes from licensing from our reporting solutions and the rest is
generated by services. We would like to take product licensing revenues up to
30-40% in the next two years, because an increase in licensing revenues would
translate into increased services revenues for us. Infusion, the service
integration platform, is new and is yet to contribute to our overall turnover.
What are your strategies to tap the Indian domestic market?
We would do some initial branding in the form of advertisements to get the
initial traction. Tying up with consulting companies is another option that is
currently under consideration. It is a tried and tested method for us in the US
and we would probably consider a similar move in India as well. We are also
investing in our own facility at Rajarhat in Kolkata.
What kind of growth plans have you put in place for Anshinsoft?
Apart from the Indian market, we would tap other markets also by leveraging
our experience and solutions in financial services sector. We are in the process
of initiating new partnerships for making our presence in South East Asian
markets and the UK. We are also considering a new business direction based on
Software as a Service as a business model targeting the banking industry. This
is going to be our approach to move into the KPO space with operations in
Kolkata.
