Watch ISRO PSLV-C49 Launch EOS-1 and Nine Customer Satellites Live Online

ISRO PSLV-C49 launch will be streamed live online as the gathering of media and the general public will not be allowed in Sriharikota due to the pandemic

The countdown for ISRO PSLV-C49 launch has commenced and is all set to take place on 7 November 2020 at 3:02 PM IST from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. The ISRO launch will be streamed live and can be viewed by anyone interested on their mobile phones, laptops and tablets. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, viewers will not be allowed to gather at the launch view gallery in Sriharikota.

As of now the filling of fuel and oxidizer for the fourth stage (PS4) of PSLVC49 has been completed. EOS-01 is an earth observation satellite intended for applications in agriculture, forestry, and disaster management support. The customer satellites are being launched under the commercial agreement with the newly formed New Space India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space. NSIL is the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation.

Viewers can watch the ISRO launch live from 2:30 PM IST onwards on the official ISRO website, the Twitter handle of the Indian Space Research Organisation, the organisation’s YouTube page, and also on its " target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook page. Viewers can also watch the live telecast on Doordarshan and its YouTube page as well.

ISRO has launched several earth observation satellites such as Cartosat-1 and 2, Resourcesat-1 and 2, Oceansat-1 and 2, Risat-1, Megha-Tropiques, SARAL, Scatsat, INSAT series, and a host of other satellites. Earth Observation Satellites of ISRO have been successfully able to establish many operational applications in the country. Some of the areas where earth observations satellites are proving to be beneficial are agriculture and soils, renewable energy, forest and environment, geology and geomorphology, governance, land resources, ocean science, rural development, urban development, water resources, weather and climate, and national meet outcomes.
