However, viewers who cannot personally be present at Sriharikota can watch the PSLV-C46 launch live online 5:00 AM onwards.

The PSLV-C46 satellite will carry the RISAT-2B onboard. The PSLV-C46 mission will be the 72nd launch vehicle mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharkota, 48th flight of PSLV, 14th flight of PSLV core alone, 3rd launch of 2019 and 36th launch from the First Launch pad, is the 14th flight of PSLV in ‘core-alone’ configuration, which means without the use of solid strap-on motors.

PSLV-C46 Launch Details and What the RISAT-2B Satellite is Meant For

PSLV-C46 launch is bound to take place on 22 May 2019 at 5:27 AM IST subject to weather conditions. PSLV-C46 will launch RISAT-2B, which is a Radar imaging earth observation satellite developed by ISRO, and place it into an orbit of 555 km at an inclination of 37 degree. The satellite has the capability to monitor earth day and night, regardless of what the weather is like.

RISAT-2B has a mission life of 5 years, and can be applied in fields such as agriculture, forestry and disaster management support. The lift-off weight of RISAT-2B is 615Kg, says ISRO.
