The Indian Space Research Organisation has just announced that viewers will be able to watch the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 landing live online tonight from their laptops, smartphones and other devices with Internet connectivity. Owing to the enthusiasm amongst people across India and even the world regarding Chandrayaan 2 landing on the moon, adequate measures have been taken to ensure viewers do not miss the live streaming of Chandrayaan 2 landing live online.
While top dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi with be watching Chandrayaan 2 landing live from the ISRO Control Room, ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) facility in Bengaluru, the media has also been invited to watch and relay the same from the facility. 70 school children who performed exceedingly well in the ISRO Space Quiz will also be present at ISTRAC.
The successful landing of Chandrayaan 2 on the Moon is of paramount importance to ISRO and India as it would mean that the country has achieved a feat that several others have attempted and failed. “Chandrayaan 2 is the next leap in technology as we attempt to soft land close to South Pole of the moon. The soft landing is extremely complex and we will experience approximately 15 minutes of terror,” says Dr K Sivan, Chairmain of ISRO. The south-pole of the moon is also a promising testbed to demonstrate technologies required for deep space missions.

Viewers will be able to watch the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 landing live online on the official ISRO website, the Twitter handle of ISRO, ISRO’s YouTube page, and also on ISRO’s" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Facebook page. Viewers can also watch the live telecast on Doordarshan and its YouTube page as well. The live telecast begins from 1:10 am IST onwards on 7 September 2019 (meaning after midnight tonight i.e. 6 September 2019), and the Vikram lander is expected to touch the moon between 1:10 and 2:30 am IST.
ISRO Chandrayaan 2 carries along with it a total of 14 payloads, of which 8 are on the orbiter, 3 on the lander, and 2 on the rover; 13 payloads are Indian, while one is a passive experiment from NASA. ISRO has revealed that the payloads have been supplied by Indian Institutes such as: Large Area Soft X-ray Spectrometer (LASS) from ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) and Solar X-ray monitor (XSM) from Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). Various other ISRO centres such as Space Application Centre (SAC), IIRS, SPL, and LEOS for the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 lunar mission.
