The company, which has already hired 1800 fresh graduates, desires to hire around 4000 more over the next three quarters as the IT services major focuses on "demand-based" hiring, said a report on Business Standard. Tech Mahindra is a 4.7 billion dollar company with over 113,550 employees across 90 countries. As of March 2018, Tech Mahindra had 926 active clients. The company is headquartered at Pune and has its registered office in Mumbai.

Apart from Tech Mahindra, Walmart too is looking to hire approximately 1000 people in India. Walmart, in a bid to take on ecommerce giant Amazon, is looking to increase its manpower. The American multinational retail corporation, in India, operates out of Gurgaon and Bengaluru and has nearly 1,800 employees, said a report on Economic Times.

Walmart first entered India in November 2006 in a joint venture with Bharti Enterprises as foreign corporations were not allowed to enter the retail sector directly. Walmart operates stores in India under the name Best Price Modern Wholesale, and as of January 2018, there were around 20 Best Price stores. In October 2013, Bharti and Walmart parted ways to pursue business independently, and on 9 May 2018, Walmart decided to acquire a 77 percent majority stake in Flipkart for 16 billion dollars. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
