Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced that it has been selected by Vodafone Idea Ltd to partner for its next generation operations support systems (OSS) platform for Vodafone’s Service & Network Operations Center (SNOC).
Vodafone Idea’s SNOC monitors and controls its vast network and service offerings to over 334 million subscribers. The company further plans to streamline its service assurance processes with the HPE Intelligent Assurance solution and expand the SNOC’s existing robotic process automation (RPA) journey as it transforms into a digital service provider.
Vodafone Idea’s SNOC, located in Pune, remotely monitors 192,000 2G sites and around 372,000 broadband (3G+4G) sites across 22 circles.
HPE’s next generation OSS solution will help solve Vodafone Idea’s business challenges by offering innovative solutions that help to address them from a revenue, cost and efficiency basis. Vodafone Idea will further automate operations by introducing HPE Intelligent Assurance providing it with a powerful platform to transform vast amounts of telecommunications network data into actionable insight, thus paving the way towards zero touch operations and self-driven networks.
“Vodafone Idea is undertaking the world’s biggest telecom network integration and creating India’s most advanced, secure and cost-efficient network,” said Vishant Vora, Chief Technology Officer, Vodafone Idea Limited. “We are partnering with the best global vendors and equipment suppliers to deploy innovative, new age technologies to deliver a rich customer experience. This partnership with HPE is yet another step towards bringing artificial intelligence solutions in our network. We look forward to working with HPE to roll-out our next generation SNOC platform which is designed to be reliable and scalable for the digital and 5G era.”
“HPE started the OSS journey with Vodafone in India more than ten years ago, and we are now honored to be selected as Vodafone Idea’s partner for their new consolidated OSS platform, which includes our machine learning-based HPE Intelligent Assurance solution,” said Phillip Mottram, Vice President and Global Lead, Communications and Media Solutions, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “At HPE, our focus is to help Vodafone Idea automate their operations with solutions that are based on the latest innovations, in particular intent-based service orchestration and machine learning-based service assurance. This is key for them to be able to manage the unprecedented levels of volume, dynamism and complexity that come with new hybrid cloud environments.”
Vodafone Idea is undergoing a digital transformation journey and the agility provided by the new HPE OSS solutions will enable the company to prepare for new demands on the network – in terms of capacity, performance, and higher expectations from consumers.
