VMware deploys Zimbra, its collaboration platform, at AP Mahesh Bank

VMware Inc, the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, has announced that AP Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank has deployed the VMware Zimbra® Collaboration Suite to help the bank take advantage of an enterprise-class email, calendar, and collaboration solution.

With 39 branches across the country, the Hyderabad based AP Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank faced growing complexity and limited support, and thus administering multiple mail servers for the bank's branches was a challenge.

"We have been successfully using VMware products that have helped us improve the performance and scalability of our IT environment, which has in turn enabled our business with the flexibility and agility we require in the banking sector," said Umesh Asawa, managing director & CEO, AP Mahesh Bank.

"As our operations grew, we were looking for a solution that could help us address the challenges we were facing with our existing mail environment and evaluated many options before deploying VMware Zimbra®. The move to the Zimbra platform has helped us save on capital and operational expenses without compromising functionality," he added.

The business-critical solution has also been deployed on VMware vSphere®, the industry-leading virtualization and cloud infrastructure platform that can deliver high availability, disaster recovery and back-up for the solution, helping protect it against hardware disruptions.

Hyderabad based VMware partner led the deployment at AP Mahesh Bank.
