VMware AirWatch sells over a million licenses in India

VMware announced that it has sold over a million licenses of its VMware AirWatch Mobile Device Management solution to enterprises in India to help them manage the mobility needs of their workforce. The company also announced that India was one of the fastest growing markets for its End User Computing business globally. AirWatch saw some notable wins in India – including Air Works, Axis Bank, Fullerton, IDFC Bank, Indigo Airlines, Mindtree, OYO Rooms, Wipro, and Zomato, among others.

VMware AirWatch Mobile Device Management helps businesses to address the challenges associated with mobility by providing a simplified, efficient way to view and manage all devices from a central admin console. The solution enables businesses to enroll devices in their enterprise environment quickly, configure and update device settings over-the-air, and secure mobile devices.

In 2015, VMware’s End-User Computing business grew over 30% year-over-year, bringing the total annual bookings run rate to over $1.2 billion.
