Pegasystems has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata, to introduce a four-year integrated academic program focused on digital skills. The initiative is part of Pega’s “Graduation with Digital Skills” strategy and aims to bridge the talent gap in enterprise AI and workflow automation.

The program will train 100–120 students annually through a 16-credit structure that blends academic learning with real-world application. Students will receive hands-on experience with Pega’s AI-driven platforms and graduate with globally recognised certifications such as Pega Certified System Architect (PCSA) and Senior System Architect (PCSSA).

The initiative goes beyond classroom instruction. It includes industry-led internships, capstone projects, and one-on-one mentoring. Faculty members will also be trained under Pega’s Train-the-Trainer (TTT) model to deliver the curriculum effectively.

This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Pegasystems’ academic reach in Eastern India and exemplifies how academia and industry can co-develop next-gen talent pipelines. With digital transformation becoming central to national development goals, such programs are poised to help India build a skilled and resilient tech workforce.

As UEM students complete their degrees, they will also enter the workforce with credentials in high demand globally, enabling immediate employability in roles that require expertise in digital automation, low-code development, and enterprise AI.

The MoU was formalised in the presence of representatives from global technology firms, underscoring the program’s alignment with industry needs. With this move, both Pegasystems and UEM Kolkata aim to set a benchmark for how higher education institutions can integrate digital certifications into formal engineering education.

The partnership reinforces the importance of creating future-ready professionals who can not only adapt to but also lead in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
