Developed, designed and manufactured entirely in Bengaluru, AVA by Save My Soul is the first safety enabler App-Ware to be indegenously made and launched. It works using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and syncs with smartphones that have Android OS version 4.4 to 5.1 and iOS version 7 and above.

In today’s world, urban living comes with its share of safety issues. While the primary victims of anti-social elements are women, whether students, housewives and especially working women; school going youngsters and senior citizens are also an at risk category.

Following rigourous research and development, the team at BMS Innolabs have designed AVA keeping in mind various parameters and scenarios where an individual’s safety may be compromised. Ease of use and size being a primary concern, translated into a simple click based device, which can pass off as a key chain or bag charm, not drawing attention to it, alerting a possible attacker to its presence. The device requires a smart phone to pair with the app and work seamlessly. Going by statistics, BMS found that the high penetration of smart phone users across demographics validates the app and device pairing.

Speaking at the launch S.R. Patil said, “This is the need of the hour and the government is happy to support any initiative that garners technological support. That a Bangalore based firm has been able to marry technology and aesthetics and come up with a compact device, which is the need of the hour, says a lot about innovation and how technology is at the forefront of providing solutions to many issues.”

Gautham Kalathur, Managing Director BMS Innolabs and Co-founder of Save My Soul, said, “Wearable technology is the future and with AVA, our aim is to address personal safety, especially for women, children and the elderly keeping that mind. We wanted to  build a socially relevant, single unit to overcome as many obstacles as possible in keeping an individual safe. Our basic goal was to develop a technology based system, which is effective, easy to use and convenient to carry around.”

While developing the device and the app, the team at BMS Innolabs worked on AVA and Save My Soul being a safety enabler on three levels:
