UIDAI inks contract with HCL Infosystems

HCL Infosystems Ltd has signed a contract with The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

As per the contract HCL Infosystems Ltd. has been awarded the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to implement and manage the Central ID Repository (CIDR) for UIDAI. The contract is for a period of seven years.

The entire end-to-end technology infrastructure of the UIDAI will be managed by HCL Infosystems as the designated Managed Services Provider (MSP). As the MSP, HCL Infosystems will be responsible for procurement and installation of the IT infrastructure, implementation of information security management systems and operations support and maintenance.

The scope of work also includes technical helpdesk, support services and database administration.

Elaborating on the signing of the contract, Shri B.B.Nanawati, DDG (Technology), UIDAI said, " With the award of the MSP contract to HCL Infosystems Limited, UIDAI looks forward to maximize efficiency and to bring to fruition the goal of providing a unique identification number to every Indian".
