UGC Scholarship 2020-21: Online Applications Invited for Postgraduate Scholarships Worth up to Rs 7800 per Month

UGC Scholarship 2020-21 is currently available, and online applications are being invited from students for three postgraduate scholarships for the academic year 2020-21. Students can submit fresh applications as well as apply for renewals. Interested students would be required to apply on the official Scholarships.gov.in portal before 30 October 2020, and the last date for verification of applications by institutions, including re-submission of defective applications is 15 November 2020.

The postgraduate scholarships that are available to students as of now are as follows: postgraduate scholarship for single girl child, postgraduate scholarship for university rank holders, and postgraduate scholarship for professional courses for SC or ST. There is also another ISHAN UDAY special scholarship scheme for students from the North Eastern Region.

Details of the Scholarships by UGC Scholarship 2020-21

Postgraduate scholarship for single girl child: The scholarship aims to support postgraduate education of single girl child. There are 3000 scholarships for girl students who are admitted in the first year of postgraduate courses. The amount of fellowship is Rs36,200 per annum for a period of two years. Postgraduate scholarship for university rank holders: The first and second rank holders at undergraduate level and admitted in any postgraduate course would be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship would also be subjected to securing a minimum of sixty percent marks at undergraduate level. The amount of fellowship would be Rs 3,100 per month for a period of two years. Postgraduate scholarship for professional courses for SC or ST: The scheme has been initiated to help the deprived section of the society to undertake postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects like Engineering and Technology, Management, Pharmacy, and so on. Candidates selected for the award of PG scholarships under ME or MTech shall be provided a scholarship at Rs.7800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship.
