The UGC has granted Autonomous status to the Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida (NIET, Greater Noida) as the first private educational institution in Uttar Pradesh.
NIET as an autonomous educational institute will now be able to design its own coursecurriculum according to the needs of the industry and conduct examinations itself.
With this, students will be educated about the latest technologies so that they can be prepared according to the needs of the industry to provide them better employment opportunities globally.
NIET hasstarted B.Tech (Computer Science and Business Systems) with TCS, B.Tech (Computer Science) with Amazon, B.Tech-CSE (Data Science) with Dell and B.Tech-CSE (Artificial Intelligence) with Intel becoming the first educational institute in Uttar Pradesh, which arecurrently the most employment generating areas.
Dr O P Agarwal, Managing Director of NIET said that in 2001 NIET started its journey of engineering education with the affiliation of erstwhile Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Today, with the hard work and dedication of our stakeholders, we have the distinction of becoming the first Autonomous Educational Institute in Uttar Pradesh.
He added: “I believe that happiness is natural when it comes to success, but even more important is that we keep on continuously achieving new goals, so that the society and the people have unwavering faith inNIETfor providing qualitative and comprehensive education with excellent employment. Our responsibilities as an autonomous institute will certainly increase, but we are fully confident that we will discharge them with full dedication and set new standards. “
Dr. Agarwal further said that the objective of NIET is to provide quality and multi-faceted education to the students of every section of the society so that we can prepare them to contribute to the creation of bright future of the country and above all, make them a responsible citizen of this country and make a good human being.
Mr Raman Batra, Executive Vice President, NIET, Greater Noida, said that in its journey of 19 years, NIET has emerged as reputed institute for engineering, management and pharmacy education in India. NIET identified innovation and application of latest technologies in its teaching methodology as the fundamental pillars of its progress and ensured that all stakeholders of NIET feel proud to be associated with this institution.
He informed that on 18 August 2020, the results of the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA-2020) were announced by Honorable Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister DrRamesh Pokhariyal 'Nishank', in which NIET, Greater Noida was ranked among the top 50 institutes in the category of private higher education institutions in the country.
On 11 June 2020,Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal 'Nishank' Union Minister, Government of India, announced the results of NIRF-2020 in which NIET Pharmacy Institute ranked 49th in the country and NIET Engineering Institute secured its position in 201-250 rank band.
Mr Raman Batra further said that NIET's B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology and BPharm courses are NBA accredited and the institute is NAAC (A grade, 3.23) accredited. NIET is the only institute in Uttar Pradesh to receive all these four commendations which shows how NIET is touching new heights with the combined efforts of it’s stakeholders.
Shri Praveen Soneja, Director General NIET said that after getting the autonomous status, we will be able to provide our students, faculty and staff a better & conducive environment for their holistic development and bringing out their talent in a global perspective. NIET as an autonomous educational institution is poised to positively transform future challenges into opportunities and meeting the industry requirements.
Dr Vinod M Kapse, Director NIET said that after getting the autonomous status, the institute will now be able to start certificate courses for its internal as well as external students. He thanked all the stakeholders for their exceptional contribution and cooperation on this achievement. He further said that after getting the autonomous status, maintaining the sanctity of examinations is the most important factor and we are committed to it.
