Created by David Silver, Head of School of Autonomous Technologies at Udacity, the C++ Nanodegree Program is aimed at creating a strong foundation of the programming language which is being used to code self-driving cars, robotics and other complex autonomous and artificial intelligence software systems. As a part of the Nanodegree Program, students get an opportunity to be taught by Bjarne Stroustrup, the creator of C++. Udacity’s five-month-long C++ Nanodegree program will equip the students applying for this course with fundamentals and advanced skills in fields like object-oriented programming, memory management, and concurrency.

The course will therefore constitute a variety of immersive activities including five real-world projects, programming exercises, videos, and quizzes, to impart digital skills to the students most effectively.

Like C++, Data Structures & Algorithms too forms a fundamental and critical component of Data Science which has applications in fields like web development, software engineering, and all AI-related technologies. The Udacity Data Structures & Algorithms Nanodegree will train the students who apply for this course in the evaluation and assessment techniques required while working with different data structures and algorithms for any open-ended problem, and enabling them in coming up with relevant and innovative solutions.

The three-month-long program will consist of four courses: Fundamentals, Data Structures, Basic Algorithms, and Advanced Algorithms. During the course of this program, students will get to learn from field experts, engage with the student community, work on over 100 practice problems and get feedback on the same. By the end of this course, students will possess necessary digital skills required to ace all software engineering job interviews.

Speaking on the launch, Ishan Gupta, Managing Director, Udacity India, said, “Today, organizations across the world are looking to hire talented engineers who can proficiently work on complex autonomous and artificial intelligence software systems. Therefore, any aspiring software engineer, who intends to respond to the growing demand of technical professionals, and pursue a lucrative career, must be adept in basic skills like C++ and Data Structures & Algorithms. Our mission with launching the two Nanodegree programs is to facilitate such individuals everywhere with access to necessary learning resources to become job-ready for higher career opportunities in the IT industry.”

In tandem with the growing demand for skilled software engineers, the number of individuals looking to take up well-paid job roles is also rising. As the top skill behind the technology of autonomous vehicles, for example, transportation companies are employing C++ and Data Structure and Algorithm experts to enhance their operations and lead the R&D department. In the US, the annual salaries of these professionals easily average 100k dollars. Through its Nanodegree programs, Udacity aims to upskill its students to enable them to assume the in-demand, high-growth job roles.
