Twitter, one the most popular social media platforms in the world, seems to be facing a global outage from the past few hours. Users are reporting problems in sending out tweets, viewing notifications and direct messages as well as in checking out trending topics. Twitter goes down for several users in India as well.
Going by the live outage map displayed by Downtime Detector, the Twitter outage seems to be affecting users across the world including countries like the USA, India, and Canada. Users have also taken to Twitter to state the same and are reporting similar problems with TweetDeck as well, which is a social media dashboard application for the management of Twitter accounts.
TwitterDeck, like other Twitter applications, it interfaces with the Twitter API to allow users to send and receive tweets and view profiles.
Although Twitter has not given any reasons for the outage, they have acknowledged the problem. “We've been experiencing outages across Twitter and TweetDeck. You might have had trouble Tweeting, getting notifications, or viewing DMs. We're currently working on a fix, and should be back to normal soon,” says a Tweet from Twitter support.
However, as of now, Twitter and TweetDeck still seem to be down even after several hours of outage. Twitter reportedly has about 321 million active users as of the year 2019.
