Wireless continued to be Tulip's strength in FY 2004-05, and helped it make
inroads into rural India. Besides the traditional Network Integration business,
the company focused on setting up its own network using wireless for the last
mile and rural connectivity. Wireless sales recorded a 15% jump to Rs 140 crore.
Tulip is planning to expand its VPN business and increase volumes through
implementations under e-governance projects. Its latest initiative, TulipConnect,
would extend Tulip's wireless last mile services to 150 cities by end of August
this year.
