Criminal hunt would be easy for the Karnal Police now. The Haryana police department has rolled out a Biometric-based device in Karnal to enable the police in detecting criminals by their fingerprints. The device will map through the fingerprints stored in their database. According to the officials, Karnal is the first district in Haryana where finger print capturing system has been implemented. Though the project is in a pilot stage, the success of the project will set the pace for deployment in other districts of the state.

According to the reports published in media, the state police has bought 65 finger-print capturing devices to store full details of finger prints of 26,500 criminals. The technology is going to be helpful in identifying the repeat offenders based on the fingerprint matches through a strong database.
