This is the Top Premium Smartphone Across All the States in India: Mobilytiks

Apple iPhone 5S turned out to be the top premium smartphone in India across all the states, according to Mobilytiks , a big data analytics program in India for mobile handsets introduced by market research firm CyberMedia Research (CMR). “Apple iPhone 5S is the number one premium smartphone in India across all the states on the cumulative installations basis as of March 2017,” the report read further adding that different versions of iPhone made up the top 5 premium category smartphones in the states of Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, signifying that iPhone is not a metro affair only in India.

iPhone 5S has topped the list of premium smartphones in Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. iPhone 6 has taken up the second position in all these states except in West Bengal where Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is the second most favorite smartphone in this category.

Apple iPhone 6S took third position in Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. In Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S took third place, respectively. Other than Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 is the only other smartphone that came out as the third premium smartphone in West Bengal and fifth in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.


From Android stack, Samsung and OnePlus are the only brands that made it to the list of top 5. It is worth noting that OnePlus 3T has placed itself in list of top 5 premium smartphones in a very short span after its launch. OnePlus 3T held fourth position in Karnataka.

On the other hand, the latest model of Apple, iPhone 7, has been ranked fifth in Delhi and Gujarat. In Karnataka and West Bengal, iPhone 5; in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, Samsung Galaxy A5 2016; in Tamil Nadu, iPhone 6S emerged to be the fifth premium smartphone.

“There has been growth in numbers from Oppo and Vivo as well; however, models from these brands are yet to figure in the top 5 on a cumulative basis,” the report stated.
