Think before you post about Thackeray on Facebook

Given reports in the media, mainly TOI, which say that Mumbai Police on Sunday detained a 21-year old girl for her comment on Facebook. Her fault was that she had questioned the total shutdown in the city for Bal Thackery's funeral on her Facebook page. Not only this, the police also arrested the girl who liked the comment and registered a case under Section 295 (a) of the IPC and Section 64 (a) of the IT Act, 2000.

However, she withdrew her comment later with an apology when a mob of about 2000 Shiv Sena workers attacked and ransacked her uncle's clinic in Mumbai.

After Thackeray's death, most of the social networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc saw an influx of comments from users in India and abroad.
