the five-million figure
Five million is certainly not sufficient. I would say a figure of 50 million
would be more like it. We need to reach across the length and breadth of the
country.
On competition to the PC for Net connectivity
The Internet is available on mobile devices that will become more and more
popular, but there are two problems with them. The cellular tariff of Rs 1.4 per
minute on telephone call is too much and for the Internet usage it’s killing.
The tariff needs to be reduced before the common person can make use of it. The
other factor is the size of the screen. So in that direction the PC is a better
option for the long-duration use of the Internet.
