The annual DQ Week Awards night, which has already been held in the North,
East and South regions, as usual turned out to be a rocking affair. The event,
which aims to recognize the contribution of channel partners all over India,
feted the partners on the basis of their financial (business) performance,
credibility, credit terms, expansion programs and reach, among others.

The annual gig started with a bang in the national capital, which hosted the
North region awards on July 10. The glittering awards night saw prominent
channel players from across North India in attendance. The night saw 43 partners
honored with the Delhi contingent claiming 11 awards. The night, which also
marked the completion of nine years of The DQ Week Delhi edition, saw vendor
representatives from leading firms across India come together to applaud the
winners.

The jury panel for the northern region comprised Sanjay Yadav, national sales
manager, Samsung; Sameer Mathur, head, Solutions Partner Organization, HP; Vidur
Sehgal, GM, Redington; and Mukesh Choudhary, deputy GM, Ingram Micro. The awards
night, which is usually held in Chennai this year moved to the twin cities of
Hyderabad and Secunderabad for the first time. On August 7, channel partners
from the twin cities gathered in Minerva Grand, Secunderabad.

The growing importance of channels in the IT business was reflected in the
number of awards and categories. A total of 52 awards were given away this year.
Tamil Nadu got 18 awards, with Chennai taking 12.

The panelists for the southern edition of the awards were Rajesh Khetarpal,
GM, Redington India; Devendra Rawat, deputy GM (South 1), Ingram Micro India;
Manoj Grover, partner business manager, HP India and Anand Sreekumar, regional
manager, South, Samsung India.

After rocking South India, it was eastward ahoy for the ceremony. So on
August 28 in a glittering ceremony that was held in ITC Sonar Bangla the third
annual award night, the second since The DQ Week Kolkata was launched 18 months
back, was held.

Dr Debesh Das, minister, Department of Information Technology, Government of
West Bengal was the chief guest and Dr GD Gautama, secretary, Department of
Tourism, Government of West Bengal was also present there along with various
other eminent personalities from both the industry and channel community.
