The training will be offered through Tech Mahindra Foundation’s SMART centres and academies across 11 locations in India. The program is distributed as SMART+ for persons with disabilities and SMART-T for technical skills and offers training in more than 45 domains.  People across the age group of 18-30 years with a 10th class certification will be eligible for this training program. ‘Gift A Career’ initiative will also provide hiring/placement assistance in the open market, post the completion of the course as a part of the company’s initiatives for the greater good.

CP Gurnani, MD and CEO, Tech Mahindra, said: “Between balancing lives and livelihood, people are going through difficult times during this pandemic. I firmly believe that there should be a balance between economic growth and the welfare of society and the environment and more so now. Through ‘Gift a Career’ initiative, we aim to extend our support to the youth who have been ousted out of jobs owing to the pandemic. The launch of this initiative is a testimony of our commitment towards being socially responsible while incorporating an ethical outlook and becoming aware of how our actions are affecting our communities.”

The beneficiaries of the initiative can be identified and recommended by the employees of Tech Mahindra. The employee will have to register into ‘Gift A Career’ initiative through ISR mobile app, fill a form with beneficiary details and refer any number of eligible candidates who may benefit from the program.

Rakesh Soni, CEO, Tech Mahindra Foundation, said: "Tech Mahindra Foundation has responded to the pandemic by providing relief to the most under-served sections of the society, and by introducing innovations in its education and skill development programs for continued and uninterrupted learning. The ‘Gift A Career’ initiative will boost our efforts of reaching out to a larger number of youngsters who can be skilled or upskilled through our SMART Centres and Academies, and have the opportunity to make a dignified living even during these troubled times."
