TCS, one of the largest IT services providers in India will train one lakh employees for digital.
Asserting the same, the company said that it would invest more on digital technologies namely mobility, social, big data, cloud and artificial intelligence and robotics.
N Chandrasekaran, Managing Director and CEO, TCS, told shareholders at the company’s 20th AGM that the company was investing in training one lakh employees for various digital technologies in 2015-16.
“We have invested in building the necessary consulting framework, solution frameworks, tools, technologies to help customers leverage these technologies and the business outcome,” he said.
“We are building our own intellectual property (IP) and have built a number of digital platforms. We have also signed partnerships with technology companies, start-ups, universities and design houses to bring the best solutions,” he added.
Cyrus Mistry, Chairman, asserted, “Digital technologies have created major impact on enterprises, consumers, governments and society. All the industrial solutions units are working with customers in digital and helping them look at the future of their business in a completely new way.”
One must recall that TCS launched its artificial intelligence/neuroscience-based platform in New York in June 2015.
It must also be noted that TCS and its partners developed different applications on the digital platform that have improved day-to-day lives of common people.
Some such examples are the digital platform that offers weather forecasts, cyclone and tsunami alerts, international boundary alerts and safeguards fishermen from crossing international borders besides offering market prices.
Another and the most notable service to come out of the TCS stable is the e-passport seva and income tax e-filing.
