TCS iON Offers Free Online Course on Digital Preparedness for Teachers

TCS iON has offered a free online course on digital preparedness called Career Edge – Digital Teacher for teachers across the country. The duration of the self-pace free online course is 15 days, and it aims at helping educators enhance their digital teaching skills. The course can be taken by both in-service and aspiring teachers.

This course has been designed to aid teachers across the country who had to adopt digital technologies and tools to conduct online classes and ensure continuity in education. The Career Edge program also aligns with the recently introduced National Education Policy 2020 which has called for a shift towards a technology-enabled and integrated education, says TCS iON.

What Will Be Taught in the TCS iON Free Online Course on Digital Preparedness?

The course, which can be taken over a period of two-weeks, would require a dedication of one to two hours on a daily basis. The program can be taken through any Internet-enabled devices such as tablets, mobile phones, laptops and so on. The following aspects will be covered in the program:

• New pedagogies enabled by technology.
• Digital tools to teach and learn.
• Teaching strategies for the digital world.
• Methods and practices to deliver an effective digital class.
• Tools and techniques for digital assessments.
• Analytics to drive learning personalisation.

The above-mentioned aspects basically help teachers gain a better understanding of the available digital learning tools, and provide knowledge on essential techniques required for conducting assessments remotely.
