TCS iON to empower engineering and polytechnic students from Kerala with future ready job skills

The partnership between TCS and ASAP will enable students in Kerala from over 100 engineering and polytechnic colleges to access TCS iON learning platforms

TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recently announced a partnership with the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), an initiative of the Higher Education Department of the Government of Kerala, to empower the youth of the state with new-age, future-ready proficiencies to meet industry needs, said a statement from the company.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Veena N Madhavan, IAS, chief executive officer, ASAP, said, “Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP)’s primary objective is to impart quality skill education to the students alongside their regular curriculum. The technology-led disruption is transforming industry needs and expectations from young professionals. Our association with TCS iON is a definitive step towards preparing students for the jobs of the future, while also providing them with a platform to connect them to their right-fit jobs. We are confident that these programmes will add value to our students learning journey and their professional growth.”

With ASAP, the Government of Kerala supports graduate students with relevant training to boost the state’s youth employability quotient. To support the government’s ambitious vision, ASAP partnered with TCS iON that will offer its entire range of learning solutions via its digital learning platforms to the students of 66 engineering and 45 polytechnic colleges across 14 districts.

TCS iON’s Digital Learning platforms leverage a phygital approach to help students hone their skills by focusing on hands-on capabilities in collaboration with the industry, thus making learning real and relevant. TCS iON has curated several learning products referred to as LifeLong Learning to provide the needed counselling, learning content, certification and linkage to relevant job opportunities in corporates.

The training is aligned with the academic curriculum, and the content is developed in collaboration with industry and academic experts. The program enables the development of relevant skills and reimagines classroom pedagogy through advanced cloud platforms, best-in-class multi-modal content, lectures by industry specialists, expert communities, preparatory analytics, assessments and industry projects.
