The company emerged with the lowest E-Sat score of 65, miles away from the
industry average of 80.7. This is rather alarm-ingly for the company because it
happens to be among the smaller players in the BPO space with just about 617
employees. And therefore it comes as no surprise that one out of every three
employees is ready to leave the company for a 20% hike in salary.
Just about one half of Sykes' employees say they will recommend their
company to a friend of theirs. And only a similar number look forward to a day
of work. Not something that the HR manager at Sykes would be proud of. The
levels of employee satisfaction on parameters like training, salary and
compensation and appraisal also emerge at the bottom of the table. Add to this,
just 33% of the employees answered in the affirmative to the question whether
the company offered them exciting growth opportunities.

Another aspect that is
killing overall satisfaction is the feeling of insignificance amongst the
employees. Just 40% feel their opinion matters, as opposed to the industry
