Brig Parminder S Miglani,
Managing Director,
Metamor Global Solutions (India) Ltd
height="171" align="left">That's what we do. That's what we promote. That's the track
record we have.
That's what Brigadier Parminder S Miglani's style is. Emphasize. Underline. Even Boast.
But with good reason. As the head honcho of a company that grew by a stupendous 500% in
just 18 months, Miglani has spearheaded Metamor Global Solutions (MGS)'s India operations
ever since the parent company, $850-million Metamor Worldwide Inc, acquired
Hyderabad-based Sriven Computer Solutions as part of its buy-out of Sriven's US affiliate,
Business Management Data, during April-December 1997. True to the parent's name, the
metamor-phosis of the adopted child began in full steam.
Miglani joined MGS USA as VP, Global Affairs, in early 1996 and, in July of the same year,
came to Delhi to start a software development facility. This he did in 40 days flat, which
is a record of sorts. And today, hundreds of programmers are working on projects ranging
from mainframes to Y2K to ERP from its state-of-the-art center at Noida near Delhi. A year
later he was appointed Deputy MD (Operations) of MGS India. The highest point for the
company, as also for Miglani, came when it got its place of prominence at Hyderabad's
famed Hi-Tec City, where it has bought out a whole floor for software development work.
Not only that, the company is looking to train and recruit top-notch human resources once
its Metamor School of Excellence gets going at the Indian Institute of Information
Technology in the city.
"We are growing so fast...and we want to engulf the whole world," says Miglani.
Seem more like the bold words of a former army man than articulations of an astute
executive catapulted to the hot seat. But Metamor India's meteoric rise from just 130
professionals in 1996 to over 800 today dispenses any suggestions of hot air without cool
substance. Says Miglani, "For the past two years we've not stopped construction.
Every day we are building something." To become the first choice employer for
software professionals-that's the vision he has.
