Simpl announced the appointment of Russell Byrne to head the organization’s financial interests and actions. Russell Byrne joined the company from Goldman Sachs where he held the title of managing director.
During his career at Goldman Sachs, Byrne co-founded a multi-billion-dollar principal financing business within the firm focused on esoteric and illiquid credit opportunities. In addition to his professional career at Goldman Sachs, Byrne has been an active investor in the fintech space personally since 2014, making both credit and equity investments to early stage companies.

Byrne is based in San Francisco and splits time in Bangalore where the company is located. Byrne holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.
