Schwing Stetter India, a prominent manufacturer of construction and concrete equipment in the country, has revealed its partnership with SRM Easwari Engineering College in Chennai. They aim to offer a comprehensive one-year on-the-job training program for engineering students with specializations in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Robotics and Automation, and Automobile Engineering.
This initiative aims to narrow the divide between academia and industry by equipping students with practical knowledge and skills. To ensure the program aligns with current industry standards and practices, Schwing Stetter India has customized the training course to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Within the program, selected students will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced professionals from Schwing Stetter India, and gain valuable insights into the manufacturing sector. By actively participating in real projects and gaining hands-on experience, students can enhance their problem-solving abilities, technical proficiency, and engineering skills development.
Speaking about the importance of such industry-academia initiatives, V.G. Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Schwing Stetter India said, "Our company's vision is to develop young talent and create a strong connection between academic knowledge and practical application. This collaboration aims to give students the tools they need to succeed in the workplace, spur innovation, and make significant contributions to the manufacturing industry."
Additionally, Schwing Stetter India provides a collective medical insurance scheme for all participating students. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the well-being of the interns, the company will ensure their coverage under this policy, offering protection worth Rs 1 lakh throughout their training period.
