Powerful insight

Saurabh Srivastava's retirement from Xansa as executive chairman in 2006

marked the end of his first innings in Indian IT. Having started IIS Infotech in

1989, this Harvard MBA, ex-IBM, "Distinguished Alumnus" of IIT-Kanpur

guided the company through the 90s, making it the first Indian software ISO 9001

recipient. IIS was then acquired by Xansa in 1998. Subsequently, he played a

pivotal role in developing Xansa India's capability as a foremost offshore IT

and BPO provider. But perhaps its his second innings that Indian IT would

remember him for. This involved his association with various industry bodies and

associations to promote and mentor IT ventures: being one of the Nasscom

founders to its chairman Emeritus, serving in FICCI and CII, chairman of the

Electronics and Software Promotion Council to the 'Bard of Angels'.
