On the sidelines of the SAP TechEd 2022 in Las Vegas, Dataquest had an exclusive interaction with Ms. Sarah Harvey, Executive Director, SAP Learning.



Ms. Sarah Harvey said that SAP Learn is meant for upskilling and training our employees, customers and developers in the ecosystem. We also have the opportunity to extend our reach. A year ago, we launched SAP Learn site. We now have BTP and integration. We also have many developer skills. We have low-code/pro-code, etc. We have the opportunities to upskill business executives and developers.

With Coursera, there is a seven-course learning system. Students will have the understanding on what it takes to be a SAP consultant. Non-technical persons can also benefit from the Coursera course. We are committing to upskilling 2 million people within SAP by 2025. About 500,000 jobs may also be created within the SAP ecosystem within the next couple of years. We also have a strong university alliance program. Particular partnerships come up from those.

She added that we also met with some chancellors of Indian universities recently, who told us that the need is there for upskilling. We also have people-in-transition that are also part of the skilling program. In USA, we are upskilling the veterans and military people. We also partner with Deloitte, Accenture, etc., in the USA, which makes it easier to land a job post the training. We are also offering focused upskilling programs. We have seen shift to more digital learning. SAP now has stronger digital learning programs. We see huge opportunities to meet new learners online.

Community.SAP.com is a new site that has come up. We have aligned with Chief Learning Officers, and peers answer Qs. Customers and partners also post jobs and opportunities. We are announcing this here. This is a good opportunity to get a job within the SAP ecosystem.

With the new Career Corner functionality on SAP Community you can search by location and job type. You can look up how many jobs are posted now, and how do you think it might grow.

Ms. Harvey said you can currently sort by label: Full-Time, Management, Part-Time, Professional, Senior. Regional labels are on the roadmap. +12 jobs are posted pre-launch. We expect it to grow significantly as we promote the group starting immediately.

The People to Work program has been established in Europe and USA. Where in APJ is it now? She said it is already active in Singapore and South Korea. There was an announcement from 2021 on expansion. People to Work also has a website.

There will be 23 total SAP Learning journeys on learning.sap.com. Seven Learning journeys were updated for TechEd. Three new learning journeys were launched. These include: SAP Build, ABAP Steampunk, and Customer data warehouse. All free learning journeys, as well as the free Student Zone for student learners, can be found on SAP Learn.
