Lauding Startup Village for laying out a good eco-system to innovate ideas, Sam Pitroda who is he Advisor to Prime Minister on Public Information, Infrastructure and Innovations, felt that the telecom incubator did help in creating a `new Kerala.'
"This is the new Kerala where the young minds are able to plant new seeds of growth to bring out new ideas. Lots of young minds coming together and experimenting on new ideas can produce wonders," he said.
Pitroda was addressing the entrepreneurs during his first ever visit to Startup Village, which is emerging as one of the largest telecom incubators in the world and changing the technology landscape of India.
He exhorted the youngsters to contribute their mite in developing new ideas that could turn into new ventures in the technology sector.
Reminding that India has an estimated 550 mn young minds and creation of jobs for them was a big challenge, Pitroda explained that jobs for these youngsters should come from young entrepreneurs within the country as it is tough to start a company.
Later he asked the entrepreneurs to give a presentation at the National Innovation Council, which was scheduled to meet in New Delhi, on January 21.
On a query from a young entrepreneur on the complicated legal system of filing patent registration, Kerala IT Principal Secretary and former Patent Controller General P H Kurien said they were aware of the complexity of the issue and offered governmental help in the registration process. Normally, companies and individuals seek the help of legal consultants in filing patent registration, Pitroda pointed out.
