Sachin Pilot Goes Left, Right, Left...Left...Left!

Why has Sachin Pilot joined the Indian Army? Any guesses, well only for reasons best known to him.

He thus becomes India's first serving minister to join the Territorial Army, part of Indian Army, and that too in the capacity of a regular officer. Several others in other professions, such as Indian cricket captain, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, etc have been given honorary ranks of Lieutenant Colonels.

However it is an intriguing decision of Pilot that he will be joining as a regular Lieutenant, will undergo training in IMA, Dehradun and will have to march along with other soldiers for at least 4 days a month.

The reasons however can be speculated - maybe it's a sense of patriotism that has triggered him, maybe he wished to have a steady, alternate source of living, or maybe - this one's the most feasible - he felt he could contribute better to the nation by getting a hands-on experience on the importance of critical infrastructure like telecommunications, IT networks etc. And where better to get trained than the Indian Army.

Whatever be the reason, the youthful and charismatic icon has ensured a place for himself in the history of firsts!
