RRB NTPC 2020 and Group D exam dates were announced the Government of India yesterday, and the computer-based test one (CBT-I) will begin from 15 December 2020 onwards for nearly 1.4 lakh vacancies in Indian Railways. While the forms for the RRB NTPC vacancies were submitted by 2.4 crore applicants last year, the examinations were delayed by the government due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
RRB NTPC CBT-I examination will be of a screening nature consisting of objective type questions and multiple choice answers. There will be negative marking, and one-third of the marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The questions for the test will be related to the educational standards prescribed for the post.
RRB NTPC 2020 Syllabus for CBT-I
There are three domains from which questions will be asked namely: Mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, and general awareness. The syllabuses under each of the domains are as follows:
Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, and so on.
General intelligence and reasoning: Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement-Conclusion, Statement-Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, and so on.
General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10 standard of CBSE), Indian History, and so on.

Duration of exams: 90 minutes
General Awareness: 40 marks
Mathematics: 30 marks
General intelligence and reasoning: 30 marks
Total number of questions: 100.
