This

all-in-one medical kit developed by Neurosynaptic Communication in collaboration

with TeNet, IIT Madras, is all set to revolutionize medical diagnosis in rural

India. According to the company's CEO Sameer S Sawarkar, "The diagnostic

kit enables patients in remote rural areas to send vital physical parameters

like blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature and ECG readings. The doctor

and the patient can also remotely converse by video conferencing, thus making it

real time. The various medical equipments are integrated with the PC, and two

versions of software, one at the patient's end and the other at the doctor's

end, are used for exchange of information over the Internet". The kit,

which is based on the corDECT WLL technology and which costs around Rs 10,000,

will soon be deployed in rural kiosks.
