Reliance Jio vs Airtel vs Vodafone Idea Tariff Hikes: Who is Offering the Most Economic Plans?

Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea have all finally unveiled their new plans, which have already or soon will come into effect. While Airtel and Vodafone prepaid plans are priced in a similar manner, Reliance Jio plans are about 15 to 25 percent lesser than that of the other two operators as per analysts’ expectations.

For instance, when the plans offering 1.5GB per day for a period of 28 days are compared, the Reliance Jio plan starts at Rs 199, while that of Airtel costs Rs 248 and Vodafone Idea’s cost Rs 249. This means that the same plan is being offered by Reliance Jio at almost Rs 50 lesser than the other two operators.

Reliance Jio also offers 1.5GB and 2GB per day All-in-One plans for a period of two months at Rs 399 and 444 each, which is an option that is not available with Airtel or Vodafone Idea. Furthermore, to be precise, the Rs 129 Reliance Jio plan costs Rs 149 when it comes to Airtel and Vodafone Idea, which means a 15 percent savings for Jio customers.

And when the Rs 199 Jio plan vs the Rs 248/249 plans of Airtel and Vodafone Idea are concerned, it would mean a saving of 25 percent for Jio customers. Detailed price comparison of all Reliance Jio vs Airtel vs Vodafone Idea plans have been provided in the table below.

While the reactions on the tariff hikes are still tricking in, initial reactions seem to suggest that consumers have welcomed the Jio tariff hikes positively. “Jio hikes tariff by 8-34%; blended average hike of 28%; Plans become effective from December 6 Launches new all in one plans which will provide 300% more benefits than earlier all-in-one plans Jio's plans have become cheaper once again compared to Airtel and Voda (sic),” says Ashish Shah on Twitter.
